Jet Velocity and Acoustic Excitation Characteristics of a Synthetic Jet Actuator

The effect of the excitation frequency synthetic jet actuators on mean velocity issuing from an array circular orifices is investigated experimentally, focusing acoustic characteristics actuator’s cavity. Two cavity configurations are considered. In first configuration, jets generated by exciting a single, large having sixteen via piezoelectric elements. second volume configuration divided into eight isolated compartments, each with two and Several distinct resonant peaks were observed in response actuator built single large-aspect-ratio cavity, whereas case compartmentalised cavities exhibited peak.
